'Making Peace' Artist in Residence at the National Memorial Arboretum

'Looking Forward' features eleven objects inspired by the simple form of the box periscopes used by soldiers in the trenches to look forward into no man’s land. Eleven components, reduced in stages to outlines and shadows, reference the date of the Armistice. Details from documents, including trench maps, newspaper headlines and poetry, and the word 'peace,' handwritten in different languages, have been collaged through etching and enamelling to create panels around the linear structures.
