My work reflects my memories of growing up in Norway, surrounded by mountains, forests and rocky beaches, and I find the textures, shapes and colours in craggy rock faces, lichen, moss and layered tree bark endlessly fascinating.
I work in a free and intuitive way, using techniques like stretching and carving, often combined with wheel throwing, to create organic forms reminiscent of elements in the wild. I use a variety of clays, grogs, slips, oxides and glazes, and fire to stoneware 1260C.

I am absolutely delighted to have been invited to make a new series of sculptural pieces for the exhibition “From This Land”. There is work from 12 artists, all creating pieces that respond to or are inspired by nature.

I’m back at the Byre Gallery in Cornwall this May, showing tableware this time as part of the spring exhibition “A Colourful Life” from 4th May to 2nd June. I’m in good company with other makers in glass, ceramics, jewellery and fine art.
