Porcelain

The porcelain work stemmed from the Material Matters project. This material has many seductive qualities, but I am currently fixated on its interaction with glazes I’ve long used on stoneware. At once uniting, fluxing together, then crawling, peeling and pulling away from the body revealing layers beneath. Embracing qualities that would otherwise be considered faults, allows for expression through the materials themselves. I feel they reveal something very human about lived moments.
