"NORTHERN LIGHTS" COLOUR STORY
The Northern lights aren’t usually associated with more southern parts of the UK, but this year is special with this spectacle of light more visible than it has been over the past decade, which inspired my original painting. The painting explores the simplification of colour and pattern as the aurora swirls through the sky. Flashes of bright pink and vibrant green light up an indigo blue sky with layers of texture visible through inky shadows. The colours look wonderful on silk and cashmere.
