Earthenware London clay and oil shale are seemingly in direct contrast with each other, their colours alone speak volumes. Yet when embraced, their differences highlight the inherent qualities of one and other, creating balance and reciprocity. Through various means of material investigation, forms emerge that shape-shift between shadow and light, hard and soft, vulnerable and certain, weight and weightless.
