inspired by Iceland

During a Textile art residency at the Textile Centre in Blonduos, North Iceland, I became inspired by the awareness of immense space as the endless landscape grew increasingly overwhelming. This became the overall sensation expressed in my response work. Using solely Icelandic materials I apply all the colours of the land, from the black sand and dramatic rock formations to the beautiful glacial waters and extraordinary volcanic lava fields.
