Hardship Fund

The Hardship Fund for Makers was launched thanks to the generosity of The Radcliffe Trust to help makers who during the Covid-19 lockdown have lost more than 75% of their income and don’t qualify for any form of government support.

We raised over £75,000 and have now made grants from the Hardship Fund to all makers we were able to support, with individual grants of £500. We are grateful to The Radcliffe Trust for enabling us to set up this fund and would also like to thank Bils & Rye and their customers for their support.

The Crafts Council is committed to keep supporting makers in recovering from the impact of Covid-19 on the craft sector. If you would like to help directly support makers’ income at this time, you can do this by donating to our Acquisition Appeal.

Donate to our Acquisitions Appeal - support makers' income

To discuss the Acquisition Appeal or other initiatives to support the recovery of the craft sector, please contact Andy McGlynn, director of insight and development, a_mcglynn@craftscouncil.org.uk.
