  • TOAST Creative Residency

In collaboration with the Crafts Council, sustainable fashion and lifestyle brand TOAST present the TOAST Creative Residency. As part of this year's programme, join the Crafts Council in conversation with TOAST's chosen artist, as they reveal work inspired by the 'Rewilding' seasonal collection.

During this talk and presentation, curator of creative partnerships and programmes Annabelle Campbell will be in conversation with the artist (to be announced), and will share their innovative way of working, guiding us through their creative process.

The open call sought artists from a variety of backgrounds and creative disciplines to submit artwork exploring the seasonal theme of Rewilding. The selected artist will present their work at the Creative Residency, be profiled within Crafts Magazine and later be donated to the Crafts Council collection.

TOAST Creative Residency

This year's residency is a three-day blended programme of engaging talks, workshops and live demonstrations hosted both online and in-person at the Crafts Council Gallery in Islington. Events are open to all and attendees will explore repurposing, reinventing and reuse of materials.

20% of all ticket sales will be donated by TOAST to the Crafts Council's Young Craft Citizens programme - offering workshops, paid opportunities and creative and professional advice for young people from all backgrounds interested in shaping the future of craft, design and making in the UK.

About TOAST

TOAST began with loungewear and nightwear, designed in a farmhouse in Wales. Originally founded by James and Jessica Seaton in 1997, the collections reflected a sense of ease and a slower, more thoughtful way of life. Today, led by Suzie de Rohan Willner, TOAST creates and curates simple, functional, beautiful clothing, homeware and editorial.

TOAST has shops throughout the UK and can be found in concept stores across the US and Europe. With studios in both London and Swansea, TOAST continues to design and develop all collections in-house and is proud to be one of the few fashion brands with its own full pattern room – lined with calico toiles and full of pins, papers, chalks and spools of thread, it is a true place of making.
