Craft School is Crafts Council's national challenge for learners from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4. With a brief set by Crafts Council trustee and multidisciplinary artist Yinka Ilori, the challenge asks learners to submit a craft project on one of three themes: play, storytelling, and empowerment.
Teachers and craft educators are invited to join us online for the launch of the challenge's second year. Find out more about how to register your class, the programme of support on offer and the opportunities to develop craft in your classroom.
We'll be joined by education experts, teachers and craft makers to celebrate and explore making practices in the classroom. We'll look at Make First - the craft pedagogy that underpins the challenge - as well as think about how an open-ended, learner-centred approach to craft and making can support an anti-racist curriculum.
Talks and discussions will be combined with hands-on creative sessions led by makers, so you'll come away feeling inspired and invigorated.
