We Listen: Young Craft Citizens Takeover

2 March

Crafts Council Gallery, Islington

Free

Book tickets

  • YCC Workshop

Join the Young Craft Citizens from 6-9pm on Wednesday 2 March for an evening of live music, speed-networking, craft activities, and panel discussions.

Young Craft Citizens (YCC) members Ayesha Patel and Glenda Serwaa Gaspard present We Listen - an evening event curated as part of their Gallery Event Production Placement at the Crafts Council.

Inspired by We Gather - the current exhibition at the Crafts Council Gallery - and with the help of the Crafts Council's young people's producer Youcef Hadjazi, the event will provide a safe space to network, make and share knowledge.

Craft enthusiasts aged 16-30 years old are invited to join the YCC network in conversation with a panel of emerging makers and artists. Come along to hear powerful discussions that centre the experience of Black and Brown wxmen in Britain today and meet fellow creatives from a wide range of backgrounds. Together we'll unpack their creative process and reflect on the realities of navigating industry, politics and social justice.

Guests can also enjoy pop-up henna workshops, free tote bag personalisation, speed networking and more! Sounds will be provided by DJ Yeahitsrenee.

Tickets are free!

We Listen is about maintaining and contributing to the legacy of community through the amplification of our voices. We hope to aid the artistic progress of craftsmakers and creatives through the continuous exchange of our experiences."
