Rock Pools
Work created in response to my fascination of the precarious world of the rock pool, always on the edge of disaster. It is a natural environment which is constantly regenerated by the ebb and flow of tides. The added influence of man on the environment with global warming, causes rising sea levels, changing temperatures, salinity and oxygen levels. Free machine embroidery is used to create sandy textures and quilting techniques create raised areas of pebbles and rock pool channels.
