Winter Low Tide
Thrown from Cornish clay sourced from St Agnes on the north Cornwall coast, this work is inspired by the tide outside my studio.
The rims on these vessels are often turned inwards to echo a boat’s gunwales and I inscribe the clay with marks that reference the reeds on the creek margins. This grey/green super-matt stoneware glaze references low tide where the creek mud looks like a field of clay, with little channels running through it.
